I wasn’t intentional about making this song\, in fact very little from the new EP; “Angel Musiq” was thought about longer than the span of 5 weeks. The things I loved about hearing this track play off the monitor for the first time in studio was the ferocity and gentleness that I hadn’t been able to marry on a track quite yet. This song is raw\, but conditioned – expressive\, but concise – immediate\, but lasting. Alongside the visual package\, there will be a lyric video and music video accompanying this release for the month of March.

The single is accompanied by a music video starring myself and Paddy Clarke\, which was filmed between Calgary and Liverpool as neither of us could afford to travel to our respective cities.\nSticky Floor Serenade was recorded in Belfast’s Half Bap Recording Studios by No Oil Paintings’ George Sloan\, with accompaniment from Buí bassist Rónán McQuillan and drummer Matt Sloan.\nThe music video was filmed by Charlie Hart (Calgary) and Leonie Abisgold-Rayner (Liverpool)\, and edited by Leonie Abisgold-Rayner. Digital distribution is handled by AntiFragile Music.\nBIO: Emét (Emmét McGonagle) is an Irish indie-folk musician with influences ranging from Hozier and Big Thief to Mitski and Phoebe Bridgers. Following the release of their debut EP Cheers & All the Best in March 2021\, the Derry native moved from Ireland to Calgary where they released singles Hate To See It and The Chelsea Hotel Is Closed Until Further Notice ahead of debut album Carlin’s Farm (set for release 8 April with digital distribution handled by AntiFragile Music).\nEmét’s latest single\, Sticky Floor Serenade\, recounts drunken nights with Liverpool-based musician Paddy Clarke. DESCRIPTION:Single Release\nArtist\nMáni Orrason\nTitle\nCoffin\nGenre\nPop/Rock\nInstagram\nhttps://www.instagram.com/maniorrason/\nDetails\nLanding in the wake of last year’s stellar releases ‘Change The World’\, ‘D&G’ and ‘Seven’\, Máni  Orrason yields his first outing of 2022 with new single ‘Coffin\,’ released on February 25th\, 2022. \nThe latest in a string of tracks that  traverse defiantly fuzzy guitar rock\, bouncy indie pop\, glitchy electronica and everything in  between\, ‘Coffin’ is another ruminatory offering that captures his vulnerabilities through a frivolous lens. \n“I love the romance of the rockstar\,” Orrason explains. “When I was getting into music\, I was obsessed with these larger than life\, untouchable figures; they showed me that you can do whatever and be whoever.” He recounts the fascination of molding a new identity and the idea of erasing yourself to create something better: an untouchable Romeo wrapped in leather or a ghostly fabrication of effervescent cool. \nEnamoured by the “arrogant motherfucker energy” of Lou Reed and the idea of “it’s better to  burn out than fade away”\, Orrason related more to the man underneath the superficial personality. “You listen to his music and understand that he’s just this really conflicted\, desperate\, emotional person.” \nFinding himself internally suspended between fantasy and reality\, ‘Coffin’ was written at a point  in Orrason’s life where new opportunities were on the horizon meaning he had to make important decisions about which avenue to pursue next. More importantly\, it left him pondering whether he should believe his own hype or lean into his more grounded existence. \nInspired by the paranoia of The Truman Show and his own duality\, Orrason captures himself as a  showbusiness vessel sprinting to escape his doom to the tune of Neon Indian\, Toro y Moi and  The 1975\, spotlighted in the bright artificiality of 80s production. “That’s where ‘thinking you could stop him\, running out the coffin’ comes from\,” he continues. “I felt like I was starting to live this realised fantasy version of myself and people were really reacting to this person I was  portraying. I wasn’t sure I wanted to be that person”.\n

Her music fuses electronic\, house and pop music.\nHer love of dance and electronic music started at a young age\, but Charlie’s first formal introduction to music was studying classical music and opera at The Royal Northern College of Music.\nIn the years following graduating from a Contemporary Music Degree Charlie went on to DJ in many venues in and around Manchester and was a resident DJ at ‘Breakout’ a long standing LGBT club night at MMU. She also played live gigs in an electro pop outfit\, Random Pam and supported the likes of the Ting Tings.\nShe started working as a Youth Worker\, running music and DJ sessions and running Stockport Music Project from Moolah Rouge recording studio\, where she met lots of Manchester-based musicians and met and recorded with Badly Drawn Boy. She also went on to be employed for several years as a Music Industry Contact Adviser on the national New Deal for Musicians course.\nNow living in Lancaster\, more recently she has turned her hand to producing dance and electronic music\, mainly during the recent Covid 19 lockdowns. This time presented her with an opportunity to develop her music production skills using Logic Pro X software and to complete the tracks which make up her first EP\, the aptly titled “If Not Now\, Then When?”\nThe lyrics are questioning\, rather than “preachy” because she aims for her songs to be danced to\, while at the same time meaning something more that the usual ‘love story’ lyrics that dance and popular music often focuses on. She has also provided a brief insight into her experiences as a lesbian and a female musician both as she was growing up and now she is older\, and hopefully a little wiser too!?\nIn 2022 as Shelectro\, she will be releasing a single\, Human Sunshine and then the EP and will be promoting these and playing live gigs and local festivals.
