LA-based electro-pop singer and songwriter John Conlin, has jointly releases his new single and music video “It Doesn’t Matter.” The track features Conlin’s agile vocals and 80s sound effects while paralleling his optimistic outlook on life and love through its rose-colored lyrics and visuals.

With minimalism being at the forefront in pop music today, “It Doesn’t Matter” is a maximalist dance-pop track featuring layers of glistening synths and a massive beat meant to get everyone up and moving. The festive track hooks listeners with a chantable chorus, reminiscent of Katy Perry’s early music, while the video features personality-filled choreography. Both, the single and music video’s fantastical view on love and use of color reintroduces us to a currently overlooked “love conquers all” attitude and an early 2010s vibe.

Dancing in front of abstract colors, Conlin sings of love in a way many listeners may not have heard since they were tasked with dissecting 16th-century literature in high school- unrelenting and overcoming everything life throws at it.
