Independent alt-pop musician/producer Zach Benson is back with his latest EP, “and miles to go before i sleep”, out on all DSPs July 1, 2022.
“and miles…” is Zach’s follow-up to 2020’s “hopeless, romantic.” and shows Zach mixing his signature synth-pop style with a new emo/alternative twist, inspired by his adolescence. “Half of these songs began at my parent’s house last year,” said Benson, “and being in that space brought me right back to my high school music tastes. You could dance to these songs with your friends, cry to them in your room, or scream & mosh at a gig. There’s something for everyone.”
The EP is entirely produced & mixed by Zach himself, with writing credits from ZEE MACHINE, Brandon Gorman of Wild Love, and bexx. “I love working on tracks for other artists, but I get a little self-conscious and protective when creating my own songs. It’s usually me and my laptopfor 95% of the process”, says Benson. “I really had to allow myself to get vulnerable and let people in for these songs to bloom, which was so rewarding.”
Since 2017, Zach has been a prominent fixture in the LGBTQ+ pop scene, accumulating over 3 million streams between platforms, opening for national acts like VINCINT and Set It Off, and getting recognition from publications like PAPER Magazine and Billboard Pride. You can see
